Here are some of our frequently asked questions . . .
“What if the painting doesn’t get completed during my event?” Although the Painting to the People team facilitates your event by encouraging guests to participate along with hands-on instruction and witty banter . . . sometimes the painting’s entire first coat doesn’t get completed within the allotted timeframe. But don’t worry, we take your painting back to our studio for all the final paint touch-ups. Additionally we apply three coats of Golden’s archival spray varnish which protects your painting from UV rays and preserving your heirloom’s vibrancy for decades to come.
“Do you have any special requirements for live painting at the event?” The Painting to the People team will arrive at least one hour before your event is scheduled to begin. We’ll need at least a 6’ x 6"‘ area that has an outlet nearby and that is in a focal location so your guests can easily find us to participate in the painting process.
“How do we get our guests to participate in the live painting?” The Painting to the People team is very engaging with your guests, but the more help we can get, the better! We ask that you let your guests know about the live painting via your wedding website, table signage, announcements at your event, or even through a mass text message.
“What is required to book Painting to the People for my event?” Once you submit a form for your Free Consultation, we’ll check to make sure that your date is available. If it is, we’ll schedule a 30-45 minute Zoom call and we will create a custom proposal for your based on the information gathering during our meeting. We will provide a few options, based on your preferences and once you choose your package, we will send you a contract and an invoice for a 50% deposit so we can move forward to the next step— helping you select the best photo to convert into a live painting. You can read more about the entire process on our “How it Works” page.
“Where are you located, and do you travel out of state, or internationally?” Painting to the People is based in Boulder, CO and we travel throughout the country and internationally. These are all itemized on your quote, for full transparency.
“How long does it take to get my painting back after the event?” Depending on our schedule and the amount of time needed for finishing and final touch ups in our studio, your finished painting will be ready for local delivery or shipping within six to eight weeks of your event date. We will communicate the expected timeline clearly throughout the post-event process
“Is this an activity for kids?” While Painting to the People hearkens us back to the paint-by-numbers we used to do as a kid, this is an adult or older kid activity. This is a case where coloring inside the lines is necessary. It’s not a life doctrine—we just want you to have the best finished product possible.
